Now that we’re finally caught up on our old apartment posts we can finally start bringing you along on the new house! We wanted to make a editing command station so we could both work on videos at the same time, that’s the whole purpose of this space. We got two standing workstation desks and set up the space for optimal productivity. Thank you Fully for hooking us up with furniture for the space!

FURNITURE

Jarvis Laminate Standing Desk

We started with a great blank slate, but decided to paint the ceiling and doors as well. We went with decorators white on the walls and doors, and matte black on the ceiling to add some fun to the space. We get light in this room all day long, the black ceiling doesn’t make the room feel too dark.

We used two standing desks placed in an L shape to separate our workspaces. We decided to go with two desks instead of one l-shaped desk to give us the option of reconfiguring the space, and flexibility if we ever move these to a different space.

We added Philips Hue lights to our office to give us some different options in color temperature when filming, hanging out, or editing. You can learn more about what we did in the video at the top of this post.

We wanted this space to feel great for editing and getting work done, but we also wanted it to double as a background for our videos. We picked up these ladder shelves from CB2 they are functional but also make for a nice background. Simple white boxes on the lower shelves hold gear, other shelves hold bags we don’t use every day.

WALL COLOR

As mentioned above, we wanted this space to be a little different, we had done a black ceiling before and loved it so we tried it again here! We painted the ceiling a matte black by Benjamin Moore, and painted the walls, trim, and doors on our favourite Decorators White.
