Our main bathroom is our last big renovation project on this house and the one that needs to be done the most! Of course, like the rest of the house, the bathroom had stucco ceiling and shitty lighting. On top of that was floral tile from the 80's matched with a grey tub, toilet, and sink.
We did a few minor things in here after moving in, like paint the walls and cabinets, install a new floor, put up a new shower curtain, but the rest is just as 80's as ever. We even kept the bar in the shower. I must say it does make getting out of the tub easier!
This is one renovation I have been looking forward to for a long time. I love taking baths, LOVE THEM! And as you can imagine, this bathroom doesn't give the most relaxing vibe. The vanity is also a little big for this tiny space so it is quite hard for Chris and I to stand there and brush our teeth. One of the best improvements we did in our master bathroom was replace the massive vanity with a super tiny one, it makes the room feel much bigger. We won't be going with something that small in here, but the new vanity will be 4 or 5 inches smaller than this one with much more useful storage. We will be going with the Godmorgon vanity from Ikea in high gloss white.
Since we don't have a lot of experience with plumbing, and we need to turn this project around as quickly as possible (it's our only bathroom with a shower), my uncle Jeff will be coming in to tackle the majority of the reno. We have the supplies ordered, most of which are already onsite. Just waiting on 2 or 3 things for the shower and we can get started. We will be tearing the room back all the way to the studs as we are running new electrical and in floor heating. We will cover the walls with blue drywall since it's a wet space and installing heated floor as our heat source.
We are really excited about this one! The finished space will be mostly white with black accents (surprise surprise!), we will share more inspiration on our mood board post.
