Thanks Cuts for supporting our work! With trips like Heading: EAST, space and weight in our bags is always a concern. Everything we bring has to work extra hard to keep us dry and comfortable. Since we can’t bring a lot of options, we want to bring high quality clothes that look nice and fit well.

Cuts hooked both Chris and I up with some new shirts and hoodies for our trip. We love their shirts because they are high quality, fit great, and are super soft and comfy. We had no problems wearing these day after day (we did end up giving them a quick wash in the bathtub mid trip LOL), and they always came out of the bag wrinkle free! The hoodies are made from a Hyperloop French Terry™ material making them the perfect moisture wicking layer for everyday adventures.

Packing List

In our series announcement post I told you we would be sharing guides and lists related to the series; consider this the first one! We took a ton of stuff on our most recent helicopter trip, half of which was camera gear (post to come) and the rest clothing and camping gear. Below is a packing list of everything we brought that wasn’t camera gear, including the clothes we wore to keep warm and cool, our entire camp kitchen, and our new sleep system and tent!

Stuff for Our bodies

We decided to take minimal clothing with us to save on space and weight. We knew we would be doing some camping and adventuring so we didn’t need a lot. Cuts Clothing made up the majority of our body wear, aside from a few fleece and waterproof layers which are also key for outdoor adventures and camping. Here’s the list of what was in each of our bags:

The clothing vessel

Both of us packed all of our gear in our own 40L Nomatic Duffel bags. We find these excellent for these kinds of trips since they can be worn like a backpack and are water resistant.

Stuff we cook with

This is everything in our camp kitchen. Stuff we use to cook and make beverages including the vessels we carry the gear in.

After a few attempts I think we have our sleep system dialed in! Here’s what we use for sleeping including our tent!

This one has vestibules on both sides which we found great. Fits two extra wide sleeping pads (30”) side by side with a little room around the perimeter.

Extra Stuff

Air Mattress Pump

Flash light

Headlamp

Battery lantern

Back up batteries

40L Drybag (we put sleep system inside minus sleeping bags)
